They demonstrated key building blocks: <strong>SPAM 99,98%<\/strong>, <strong>HOM interference 99.50%<\/strong>, <strong>two-qubit fusion 99.22%<\/strong>, and <strong>chip-to-chip interconnection 99.72%<\/strong> (conditional on detection). This marks a leap in <strong>system engineering<\/strong>: sources, circuits, and <strong>SNSPDs<\/strong> integrated on the same stack, plus C-band fiber networks for module interconnection. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41586-025-08820-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nature<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"585\" src=\"https:\/\/www.photonics-italia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/FotonicaSuWafer-1024x585.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-569\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.photonics-italia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/FotonicaSuWafer-1024x585.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.photonics-italia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/FotonicaSuWafer-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.photonics-italia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/FotonicaSuWafer-768x439.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.photonics-italia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/FotonicaSuWafer-18x10.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.photonics-italia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/FotonicaSuWafer.jpg 1344w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the ecosystem level, in 2024\u201325 we saw <strong>public-private partnerships<\/strong> emerge for two \u201cutility-scale\u201d sites (Brisbane and Chicago), alongside collaborations on cryogenic and process infrastructure. This signals that <strong>large-scale manufacturing<\/strong> (and therefore economies of scale) is becoming part of the strategy\u2014not just qubit physics. For the European and Italian photonics supply chain (silicon photonics, detectors, packaging), this opens opportunities in <strong>components, testing, cryogenic packaging, and quantum networking<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psiquantum.com\/blueprint?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PsiQuantum<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/startup-psiquantum-says-it-is-making-millions-quantum-computing-chips-2025-02-26\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Reuters<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.optica-opn.org\/home\/articles\/volume_36\/june_2025\/features\/photons_light_the_way_to_useful_quantum_computing\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">optica-opn.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why it matters:<\/strong> the photonic approach promises <strong>inherently low noise<\/strong>, <strong>native fiber networking<\/strong> and <strong>manufacturing scalability<\/strong>.
